Most "tired" paint isn't failing — it's buried. Years of automatic washes, dirty towels, and sun leave a layer of micro-scratches that scatter light instead of reflecting it. Correction machines that damage away and puts the mirror back.
What correction actually removes
Swirl marks, holograms from bad buffing, water etching, light scratches that catch a fingernail nowhere, and oxidation that grays the color out. What it can't fix: chips and scratches through the clear coat — that's touch-up or paint work, and we'll tell you which is which before anything spins.
Test spots keep everyone honest
Every job starts with a test panel: measure, polish one section, evaluate. That's how we know whether your paint needs a one-step gloss-up or a two-step cut and finish — and how you see the result before committing the whole vehicle.
Correction comes first, always
Film and ceramic both lock in whatever is underneath. Coat over swirls and you've preserved swirls. If you're planning PPF or ceramic, correction is step one, not an upsell — it's the difference between sealing in a mirror and sealing in a mistake.
Gelcoat too
Boat gelcoat oxidizes chalky white in a couple of neglected seasons. Marine correction cuts the dead layer back to color, and a marine ceramic keeps it there through the summer instead of until the next dock party.
Reflections tell the truth. If yours look foggy, the paint is asking for an hour with a test spot.
